Carl-Johan Blomqvist’s life’s work, developing Powder-Trans from a one-man business into a leading player in its field in the Nordic region, has received several awards during the company’s 50th anniversary year. In 2022, he has been awarded the Elämäntyö Prize and Diamond Cross for 50 years of entrepreneurship, awarded by the regional branch of the national association of Finland’s entrepreneurs (Suomen Yrittäjät).
The two awards acknowledge Carl-Johan’s achievement in having been active in the transport industry for five decades, and in leading the company he founded in 1972 to what it has become in 50 years.
Carl-Johan received his first award in August, the Elämäntyö prize, which is granted annually at the major national event for the truck industry, the Power Truck Show in Alahärmä in Finland.
“It was a big surprise. It’s a nice award and I value it very highly,” says Carl-Johan.
He received the award for his decades-spanning entrepreneurial efforts in the transport industry. The same motivation was behind the following award that Carl-Johan received at the beginning of October. He was then awarded the Finnish entrepreneur’s badge of merit for 50 years of entrepreneurship, the diamond cross.
“To receive these awards for having run a transport company and managed to grow it at a steady pace is heartwarming. That others want to draw attention to what you have worked on is really nice,” says Carl-Johan.
